We
always thought that moving house was supposed to be one of the most stressful
times in a person's life ........
For
us however, it would seem that it provided the opportunity to revamp, rethink
and reopen with a bang. With the main members of our winning team from Swinton's
own Crompton's ready for a fresh challenge, we decided to up-sticks and re-site
to leafy Monton.
Our six
valuable years experienced gained at Crompton's
made us feel ready to enhance the business further and our philosophy was to deliver
good value for money wholesome food but to offer it in a more easy eatery approach.
Here
at The Waterside, we want you to enjoy our serene and tranquil location set immediately
upon the busy yet peaceful Bridgewater canal.
The Waterside is both contemporary and comfortable whilst making the most of the
original features of its period home. (Once we believe a Polish off licence and
convenience store amongst other uses ) As
written across the entrance wall to the restaurant, we sincerely want you to 'eat,
drink, relax, enjoy', an easy instruction we feel
when faced with an unpretentious menu of tempting delights that beg to be tried.
Whether you choose to dine inside where we can seat up to 70 people, you may wish
to dine outside where our well kept terrace seats a further 140 people. As the
evenings grow cooler, you can still enjoy the wonders of alfresco dining under
our huge umbrella with heated lights.
March
2008 saw the signing of our new head chef Mr
Neil Kenny. With his ambition, attention to detail
and overall total commitment to a persons career, we felt that our jigsaw was
now complete. How wrong we was, we didn't envisage just how popular our new re-siting
was to be. Yet again we found the need to recruit another team member into our
very busy kitchen and thankfully in August 2008, we secured our assistant
head chef to strengthen the overall team.
In
recruiting two of Manchester's finest chefs,
our varied and extensive menu incorporates a wide selection of starters, a number
of 'easy eatery' main courses, featuring sandwiches and wraps, home-made
burgers, fish dishes and pasta dishes, as well as an interesting fine dining section.
The 'easy eatery' ethos takes the hassle out of dining out and presents dishes
that can be ordered at lunchtime if popping in for a quick bite or in the evening
for a more leisurely dining experience.
You
can always just stop by for a drink where you will always be welcome and of course
we love to see the children as families are high on our priority guest list !!!
So,
finally, relax with glass of wine in hand, relish our tranquil setting and first
class food where we know you will be coming back for more.
